- Wait is a verb.
- Stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or event.
- Use to indicate that one is eagerly patient to do something or for something to happen.
- To wait on the Lord means to trust in the Lord for help.
- It means to keep on waiting on God in whatever circumstance, no matter how long. It means patience, don’t be in a hurry, wait for God’s time.
- It means absolutely rely on Him to solve your problems or challenges.
- It means to look up to Jesus from whom all blessings flow because;
- Those that wait upon the Lord, the Lord shall renew their strength – Isaiah 40:31.
- God never fail nor disappoint – Numbers 23:19.
- He along has the power, ability and capacity to do for us more than what we can think and ask – Ephesians 3:20.
- Hannah needed a child, she waited on the Lord, and the Lord surely did it.
- Are you having some troubles that you can’t tell anybody? Please tell it to Jesus. Jesus answer prayers – Hymn 502.
Things to Do While Waiting on God
- Believe that the God who saved you, hear your cries – Micah 7:7, Romans 8:32.
- Watch with expectancy, but be prepared for unexpected answer – Psalms 5:3.
- Put your hope in His word – Psalm 130:5-6.
- Trust in the Lord not in your own understanding – Proverbs 3:5-6.
- Be strong and take courage – Psalm 27:13-14, 31:24.
- See it as an opportunity to experience God’s goodness – Psalm 27:13, Lamentation 3:25.
- Wait for God’s promise instead of going your own way – Acts 1:4.
- Continue steadfast in prayers, being watchful with thanksgiving – Colossians 4:2.
- Remember the blessings yet to come – Colossians 3:2-4, Isaiah 30:8.
Conclusion
God is the one who can supply all our needs according to His riches in glory – Philippians 4:19. All we need is to have faith in Him and ask Him for help – Luke 18:1-8.
