Four reasons for captivity;

Failure To Keep the Sabbatical Year- Lev25:1-7, 2Chronicle 36:20-21

Never been kept after judges to the destruction of Jerusalem about 490 yrs. (490/70) The number of years marked out for captivity until the land enjoyed her Sabbath.

IDOLATRY

Failure to listen to GOD on how to take the promised land led to mixed marriage, faith, and practice compromise Deut. 31:20, judges 3:5-7 1king 11:33.

Incense was burned to the brazen serpent of Moses and children offered to Baal and demons. They wanted Idol worship and got them for 70 years in foreign land Deut28:36.

UNGRATEFULNESS

They dethroned GOD and enthrone man to be like all the nations around them thus walking by sight (1sam. 8:19-20).

Manasseh seduced them to do evil than the nations around them (2 king 21:1-9)

They became ungrateful, unstable, fickle and perhaps the most sinful nation that ever existed 2 chronicle 36:14-16.

TOUCHING GOD’S ANOINTED ONES

Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm (1Chronicle16:22)

To do this, is to do it to God.

WE ARE THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYES

CONCLUSION

The perilous times are here, and the time has come for us to be closer to God than ever. I have anchored my soul in Christ.
