Text: Romans 8:28
By: Bro. Sunday Eyanrin
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Beloved, this morning we will be looking at the exciting presence of God in the life of His faithful children.
My dearly Beloved, there are some of us who believe that whatever happens in our lives is simply a matter of making the right choice, forgetting that our lives belong to Him Who has translated us from the Kingdom of this world into the Kingdom of His Dear Son. Colossians.1:12 – 13.
Some years back, I decided to make a trip to Lagos, I went to one of the popular motor parks at Effurun, but unfortunately there were no longer vehicle going to Lagos.
I do not want to go through the roadside transport vehicles, so I decided to take a vehicle going to Benin to make the trip to Lagos. Getting to Benin, I went to one of the popular parks at Iyaro, on my arrival at the park was a vehicle loading Lagos remaining one passenger, then they ask me Oga are you going to Lagos?
Immediately I replied No. I certainly do not know why I said so, not too long a passenger came and the vehicle started his Journey to Lagos. Not too long another vehicle started loading Lagos, I started my Journey to Lagos, as we got to Ore, there was a fatal accident, behold it was the very vehicle I refuse to enter, all the passengers in the vehicle died. Beloved, was that a matter of chance, good luck, or the unseen Hand of God?
Brethren, our focus for this sermon is “the story of Joseph, from Gen 37 – 5O”. Joseph, the son of Jacob who was called Israel, Joseph was the youngest of the twelve sons of Jacob, and his mother is Rachel.
Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age, and he made for him a coat of many colours.
HATRED AND JEALOUSY OVER JOSEPH
And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
JOSEPH’S DREAM
And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren, and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed. For behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and lo my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it to his brethren, and he said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren; and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, what is this dream that thou has dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him, but his father observed the saying.
JOSEPH SOLD BY HIS BRETHREN GENESIS 39:1 – 6
Behold, his brethren plotted against him and sold him as a slave to Potiphar in Egypt.
JOSEPH SENT TO PRISON GEN. 39:7 – 23
It came to pass that his masters wife cast her eyes upon Joseph, and she said, lie
with me, but he refused. So, she plotted against Joseph and framed him up that he was trying to rape his master’s wife and he was sent to prison.
In all of these, the LORD was with Joseph. Because he feared GOD. And the Unseen Hand of God was with him.
JOSEPH BECAME SECOND IN COMMAND IN EGYPT AND RE – UNITED WITH HIS BRETHREN. GEN.40 – 50.
Behold, while Joseph was in prison, he interpreted the Kings dream that eventually gave him favor to be the second in command in Egypt.
This also made him to see his brethren who came to buy food while there was famine all over the land. Brethren, you can imagine how shocked his brothers will be, when Joseph says to them “I am your brother Joseph” and his brothers bow before him.
CONCLUSION
Brethren, we must come to the realization that as Christian, our lives are in the Hand of God. We can confirm this with the story of Joseph. Whatever you do, wherever you go, always recognize that the Unseen Hand of God is with you. He will always take care of you.
We will round up this Sermon with Hymn no. 31 soc. 1, 2 & 4.
MAY GOD BLESS HIS WORD IN JESUS NAME AMEN
