  • Designed to help us evaluate ourselves.

  • Sustain a good relationship with our Maker!

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?–unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” (2Co 13:5)

The prodigal son did. (Luk 15:17)

“Where are you?” (Gen 3:9)

“What are you doing here?” (1Kin 19:9)

1st –Look at your surroundings!

How far or near are you from God?

2nd – Check your heart: Why are you doing what you are doing or about to do?

FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD IS SOMETHING TO BE CHERISHED!

  • WHERE ARE YOU?

“O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.” (Psa 139:1-18 ESV).

Where are you O man?

Where are you O woman?

Where are you O youth?

The beauty of being in God’s presence is that nothing can blind you and take you away from Him again!

O Man, ARE YOU AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS?

“Do not let your heart be turned to her ways. Do not wander onto her paths, because she has brought down many victims, and she has killed all too many. Her home is the way to hell and leads to the darkest vaults of death.”.” (Pro 7:4-27 GW)

OPEN YOUR EYES!

“Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.” But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.” (Pro 9:13-18 ESV)

What are you doing here?

Elijah slaughtered 450 prophets of Baal yet he left his duty post!

A man in the presence of God cannot run away from a human being when he knows God is with him!

God asked him, “What are you doing here?” Is this where you ought to be?

Talents are given to be used for Him!

Where are you in regards to your duty post? What are you doing here?
