INTRODUCTION
The word prayerful is an adjective which means to pray frequently. The word prayer in Hebrew is Palal which literally means “to speak to authority”. In our modern culture, prayer means communication between man and God.
For the purpose of this admonition, we shall be looking at reasons why we must be addicted to effective prayer life. Why do we have to pray?
- IT IS A COMMAND
In this kingdom we pray, first because it is a command believer are commanded to pray. Luke 18:1, I Thess. 5:17, Eph. 6:18
- IT IS ONE OF THE STRATEGIES OF FELLOWSHIP /COMMUNION WITH GOD.
In II Corinthians 13:14. Paul was praying, he said may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the holy spirit be with you always the Greek word for communion is Koinonia, it means the sharing together, it means intimacy means the participation of the spirit. This oneness agreement with God.
A believer experience and enjoy comes through consistent prayer. Praying is about strong connection and opportunity for intimacy with God for spiritual productiveness in the Kingdom. So, prayer is one of the strategies for fellowship.
Why do we pray according to scripture?
- PRAYER IS A PLATFORM FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE WHEN SAY SPIRITUAL WARFARE
Some believers that spiritual warfare is some kind of Christian talk that does not exist but there is a healthy balance concerning the subject of warfare is a healthy balance concerning the subject of warfare that must be communicated. What is spiritual warfare? It is establishing the will of God in spite of the contentions of darkness. It is engaging the scriptures in prayer to establish the will of God. Acts 12:5 (Explain) I kings 18:35, while prayer was on, something was happened in the sprit realm. Spiritual warfare is real. It is important you know this and operate accordingly. Satan will never let your destiny go, not without a battle.
- Prayer according to Scripture is a strategy to keep your faith alive. Luke 22:31-32
So how does Satan sift men? He does something to your faith. Why do we need to pray always?
- Prayer is a platform to make request and petition.
Prayer is the authorized biblical platform to table your request and make petitions. You don’t make petition in this kingdom by complaining. Mark 11:24, Phil 4:6
