Welcome!
This is the official webpage of the CHURCH OF CHRIST worshipping at No. 15 Grey Street by Polokor Market, Warri. A congregation of God’s children. We are one of many autonomous congregations of the Lord’s church who believe it is possible to have first century New Testament Christianity today. In order for this to be a reality, we must speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. We must be the same in Name, Organization, Worship, Doctrine and Life as was the first century church. The Bible is the only authority and we are only right when we follow it. We invite you to come visit and worship with us. We have the Lord’s Supper on the first day of the week, congregational singing, prayer, the giving of our means, and the teaching and preaching of God’s word.
In recognition of the increased complexity of our society and the varied issues confronting the Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ today, the CHURCH OF CHRIST, GREY continues to develop and perfect ministries which reflect the greatest need for the greatest number of people.
In addition to providing high quality teaching of God’s Word, the CHURCH OF CHRIST has a major commitment to provide support systems that Christians need to achieve success. These systems include evangelism, edification and benevolence. The CHURCH OF CHRIST, meeting at Grey Street, Warri strives to maintain a New Testament base in its philosophy and purpose, thereby ensuring that no person is denied the opportunity to become a member of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ and to function in the body so as to please God (I Cor. 12:18). The Congregation currently runs two radio programmes with Crown FM 89.9 and Radio Delta 88.6 as a medium of propangating God’s word in this environment.
The Church of Christ!
The church of Christ was not established by the will of man, but by the divine plan and purpose of God, from the beginning of time for the salvation of man EPH. 3:8-11. The coming of the new testament church, the divine institution of God, for the salvation of the entire human race was announced by the holy prophets of God.
THE PROPHECY OF THE CHURCH BY PROPHET ISAIAH – ISAIAH 2:2-3
“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem”. NKJV
THE PROPHCY OF THE CHURCH BY PROPHET DANIEL DANIEL 2:44
“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever”. NKJV
THE PREPARATION FOR THE COMING OF THE CHURCH
JOHN THE BAPTIST ANNOUNCED THE COMING OF THE KINGDOM (THE CHURCH)
MATT. 3:1-3
“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!’ 3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:”The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.” NKJV.

ABOUT US
The church of Christ now meeting at No. 15 Grey Street was planted precisely in 1963. It all began when God used brethren such as Leslie Diesetekamp (USA), Jim Sasser (USA), and Vincent Oritsejolone (NIGERIA) to preach the pure and undefiled gospel of Christ in Warri. Souls were converted and the congregation was established. The congregation rented a plot of land at 28A Iyara Street near Sido Street, in Warri South Local Govt. Area and built a temporary plank structure for convenient worship. More Souls were converted in this new meeting place. As the congregation grew, she moved to Merogun Primary school, Sido Street. Preaching in line with the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) was intensified and more souls were converted to Christ. As the preaching of the gospel continued, the congregation spread to different parts of Warri and environs. Other congregations that were planted through the grace of God, by this congregation (still meeting at the primary school) were:
• The Church of Christ – Eku (First Minister: Bro. Emmanuel Odishu)
• The Church of Christ Meeting at Alegbo Primary School, now the Church of Christ Jakpa (First Minister: Bro. Moses Ajekukor)
• The Church of Christ meeting at Ikegbuwa Primary school, Ajamimogha, by Olu Palace, now, The Church of Christ Ugboroke (First Minister: Bro. French Oritsejolone)
To God’s glory, the congregation, still meeting at Merogun Primary school, acquired its plot of land at 15 Grey Street, Okumagba Layout on March 19, 1973 and built its worship hall as a permanent meeting place. It moved to this place in 1982. At Grey Street, the congregation, by God’s grace was able to plant congregations such as:
* The Church of Christ meeting at Okugbe Primary school, Ekpan, now The Church of Christ, Ekpan – First minister: Bro. Ezekiel Emetefeh
* The Church of Christ, Court 4, now, merged with former Kosini. First minister: Bro. Ishmael Inyang
Later, the congregation identified an ‘un-harvested’ field at Enerhen. Bro. Vincent Oritsejolone volunteered to harvest the field of the Lord and was assisted by the congregation. The result was the planting of a new congregation at Enerhen. Bro. Daniel Onokpite was appointed the minister of the congregation at Grey Street. He later moved to plant a congregation at Kosini. Bro. Stephen Iluman was then appointed the minister of Grey Street congregation. Due to the growth of the Grey Street congregation, Bro. Sunday Eyanrin, was also appointed a minister, increasing the number of ministers to two (2). The Grey Street congregation is currently running two Evangelical programs (Theme: Restoring the New Testament Church), on media.
On the average the weekly attendance value of this congregation stands at THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR (374) with EIGHTY-FOUR (84) for the men, NINETY (90) for the women and TWO HUNDRED (200) for the children.
