INTRODUCTION
Life often presents challenges that can leave us questioning God’s plans and intentions. Life can be so challenging that the word of God and His promise does not make sense to us. Sometimes when we look at our lives, look at the situation of this country we sometimes wonder if God is out there especially after praying and believing that God will change things but rather things are even getting worse, and this make us to begin to reason so many things that put us in a confuse state.
Some person has said Christianity is not a true religion they said it’s the white that brought it to turn us away from gods, this was what a man that once believed in Christ told me after much discussion with him, I discovered that God’s way does not make sense to him because of his expectations.
This lesson explores moments in scripture when God’s actions seem incomprehensible. Our limited perspective can make it hard to understand God’s actions.
One thing we should understand is that God operates on a divine timeline Isaiah 60:22 and with purposes that may not align with our immediate understanding.
God’s Purpose in Pain (Romans 8:28) “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose”. Not all experiences are good, but God can bring good out of difficult circumstances.
Sometimes God allows us to go through some difficult times in order to sharpen us. Difficult times sometimes lead to personal growth. There is a saying that what education will teach you for years hunger will teach you in a few months.
Confused situation may lead us to God’s blessings
(Genesis 37:1-50): Joseph Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and wrongfully imprisoned, Joseph ultimately saves his family and many others.
His perspective on suffering is evident when he states, “What you intended for evil, God intended for good” (Genesis 50:20). Jesus in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46): Jesus faces agony, questioning why He must suffer. Yet, He submits to God’s will, illustrating trust even when circumstances are painful.
Personal Reflection: Have you experienced a time when you felt God was silent or distant? What is that thing that you long for and you have not gotten it?
- We should learn to be patient.
- We should always remember that God knows better.
God’s Ways Are Higher
(Isaiah 55:8-9) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.
- God might be protecting you by being silence to your desires.
- we should understand that God knows our challenges but chooses to say His grace is sufficient for you.
Job, a righteous man, faces immense suffering and loss. He questions God, seeking answers for his suffering. God answers Job out of the whirlwind, emphasizing His sovereignty and the complexity of creation (Job 38:1-3). Faith Amid Confusion Job’s response acknowledges God’s power, leading him to repentance and deeper faith (Job 42:1-6).
When faced with suffering, it’s natural to seek understanding. Trust that God sees the bigger picture, even when we do not understand.
- until we meet cases that are worse than ours God will not make sense to us.
- Most times things happen for His name to be praised.
CONCLUSION
In moments when God does not make sense, we are called to trust in His greater plan. Our understanding is limited, but faith is rooted in the belief that God is good, sovereign, and working for our ultimate benefit. We should learn to embrace faith during uncertainty and to seek community support.
