Text: Psalms 27:1-6
By: Bro. James Eghele
Fear is a tormenting spirit, it’s one of the most easily deployed tools of satan our adversary. This is the reason you must rid your heart of fear. The reflexes of fear must be completely disabled from your life, you have to grow to that point. You should be conscious and full of the love of God; and perfect love eliminates fear (1 John 4:18).
Fear creates the perfect environment for the devil to torment, intimidate and dominate people’s lives. Never yield your heart to fear, or give it room in your life. Knowing how much fear can easily dispel one’s faith, each time the Lord sent an angel to bring a divine message to people back in bible days, the angel’s first utterance was “fear not” (Matt. 1:20). The Lord Jesus during His walk also consciously assuaged the fears of people with those same words. On a certain occasion, He was with a man named Jairus, whose daughter was ill. But while on the way to Jairus’ house to heal the young girl, words came that she was dead. When Jesus heard it, all He said was “Fear not”, believe only, and she shall be made whole (Luke 8:50). Jesus had to quickly counsel him to rid his heart of fear to stop that fear from dominating his heart (Hymn 106).
To completely rid your heart of fear, you must keep feeling your spirit with the word. The day to day meditation of the word will cause Faith to rise in your spirit and surmount all your fears. Refuse to allow the wrong information that breeds fear into your spirit. The information you allow into your mind will determine the condition of your heart. For this reason, you must keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and diligence; “For out of it flows the springs of life” (Prov. 4:23). God has given us a powerful weapon to cast out fear, that weapon is His word. The power in the word, God’s word is commissioned to make a change, and this change comes as man gets in contact with the inspired word produces definite changes in your life. the Word of God is profitable for doctrine, reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete/perfect thoroughly furnished into all good works (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
The word of God makes perfection and a change in the life of a man. The word convicts the alien sinner one is able to see God through His inspired word in the same way you look into a mirror to see an image of yourself. And as you behold Him in the word, you are changed from glory to glory. The revelation in the word is that supernatural force that can bring about changes for the better in your life. Indeed, there is power in the word to eliminate fear from your life. Never yield your heart to fear. Giving due attention to reading, studying, meditation of the word as well as obedience, will impact one’s life positively; prepared and made ready for the master’s use. Life’s battles are fought with words of our father, Jesus overcomes the devil with the word. “It is written” (Matt. 4:4). The word of God is alive, active and abides forever. Take on the word and make yourself ready for the Lord’s use.
